Yn siarad eich iaith.

Bellach y mae gan ffermwyr a thyfwyr y cyfle i drafod ardystio ā Chymdeithas y Pridd yn y Gymraeg. Nid yn unig y mae Siān Thomas a Huw Edwards, aelodau diweddaraf Staff Ardystio Cymdeithas y Pridd, yn siarad Cymraeg ond mae ganddynt brofiad helaeth o amaethyddiaeth yng Nghymru.

Siān Thomas, swyddog ardystio Cymru
Magwyd Siān ar fferm laeth ac eidion ym Mhorth-y-rhyd, Sir Gaerfyrddin. Datblygodd Siān ei gwybodaeth am safonau organig Cymdeithas y Pridd pan ddechreuodd y fferm ar ei chyfnod trosi bum mlynedd yn ōl.

Yn ogystal ā meithrin profiad ymarferol gartref ar ei fferm, treuliodd Siān sawl blwyddyn yn gweithio fel nyrs milfeddygol amaethyddol. Ers hynny, mae Siān wedi cwblhau gradd mewn rheoli busnes ym Mhrifysgol Morgannwg.

Bydd Siān yn gweithio o Gaerdydd a hi fydd y swyddog ardystio penodedig i holl ffermwyr a thyfwyr Cymru.

Huw Edwards, Arolygydd Ffermydd Cymru
Mae Huw yn rhedeg fferm ddefaid organig yn Llambed, Ceredigion, mewn partneriaeth ā’i deulu. Mae Huw wedi cael profiad ymarferol ar ffermydd ledled y DU ac mae hyd yn oed wedi treulio amser yn gweithio ar fferm laeth yn America. Roedd swydd ddiwethaf Huw hefyd yn y diwydiant llaeth lle y bu’n gweithio fel rheolwr ansawdd a thechnegol.

Bu Huw yn astudio amaethyddiaeth yng Ngholeg Sparsholt yn Swydd Gaerwynt ac yn ei amser rhydd mae wrth ei fodd yn magu ac yn dangos cobiau a merlod Cymreig.

Cadwch lygad yn agored am Siān a Huw yn sioeau a digwyddiadau Cymru y flwyddyn nesaf. Yn y cyfamser, os hoffech eich cyflwyno’ch hun, rhowch ganiad i SA Certification ar 0117 914 2412.

Speaking your language.

Farmers and growers now have the opportunity to discuss certification with the Soil Association in Welsh. Sian Thomas and Huw Edwards, Soil Association Certification’s newest members of staff, not only speak the language but have extensive experience in Welsh farming.

Sian Thomas, certification officer Wales
Sian grew up on a dairy and beef farm in Porthyrhyd, Carmarthenshire. Sian developed her knowledge of the Soil Association organic standards when the farm entered organic conversion five years ago.

As well as building practical experience at her home farm, Sian spent several years working as a agricultural veterinary nurse. Since then, Sian has completed a degree in business management at Glamorgan University.

Sian will be working from Cardiff and will be the designated certification officer for all farmers and growers in Wales.

Hum Edwards, farm inspector Wales
Huw runs an organic sheep farm in Lampeter, Ceredigion, in partnership with his family. Huw has practical experience on farms all over the UK and has even spent time working on a dairy farm in America. Huw’s last job was also in the dairy industry where he worked as a quality and technical manager.

Huw studied agriculture at Sparsholt College, Hampshire and in his spare time enjoys breeding and showing Welsh cobs and ponies.

Look out for Sian and Huw at Wales’ shows and events next year. In the meantime if you would like to introduce yourself, in English or Welsh, please give SA Certification a call on 0117 914 2412.
