Traditional organic Simnel cake - a very beautiful artisan Easter cake. A layer of home made marzipan is baked inside this delicious organic fruit cake, which is topped with more marzipan and decorated in the traditional way with 11 marzipan balls (discs on the 4" version), and hand crystallised spring flowers. According to Pliny, primrose leaves and flowers are a panacea for muscular rheumatism, paralysis and gout! Who could resist?
